White Balance in Difficult Lighting

What happens when you have a last minute shoot and you just take your camera and not your camera bag (or your Color Checker Passport)? Murphy’s Law is going to kick in and give you a terrible lighting and white balance situation that you have to figure out.

Moral of the story: Figure out what the problem is and how to overcome it. If you have terrible white balance at a location find something white to take a photo of and use that to set your white balance. Make sure you have a reference photo of the white object to adjust off of in post as well. Its not a perfect solution, but it either gets the job done or gets your pretty close.
